If you are a resident of Karnataka state, having a ration card is mandatory. Government of Karnataka has enabled a website to facilitate application for Ration Card. Here are simple steps to apply for ration card online.
1. Click on http://web1.kar.nic.in/rconline/ to apply. If this link is not working, go to http://ahara.kar.nic.in/ and in the middle of the page, click on a scrolling text for New application.
2. Once you are in this page, do read the pre-requisites. Ensure you have all the data required.
3. In the same page, select your language. Either Kannada or English. Once you select the language, it will run you through multiple pages to fill up the details.
4. If you have all the information required, it will not take more than 30mins to fill up the form.
5. At the end, Submit the form. You'll get an option to take the print out of the form with receipt number.
6. Also, an acknowledgement number will be sent to your mobile number filled in the form.
